Welcome to the Art Academy of Memphis. Located on Stage Road in Bartlett, our studio provides structured, process-based instruction in fine art, drawing, foundational painting, and art fundamentals for kids, teens, and adults across the greater Memphis area, northern Mississippi, and Arkansas. At the Art Academy, we believe that artistic talent is not a prerequisite for success; rather, realistic drawing and painting are technical skills that can be mastered through discipline and deliberate practice. Our classical curriculum is designed to safely guide beginners through the core pillars of visual literacy: developing accurate perception to translate what you see without distortion, mastering value to control light and shadow, managing edges to create form, and controlling color intensity and temperature to build rich, convincing oil paintings.
